Israel has issued nearly 20,000 work permits since the beginning of last year, allowing Palestinians from Gaza to enter and work in jobs that offer higher salaries.
This has been beneficial for many Palestinian families – but it comes with conditions. And Gaza’s poverty and unemployment have left them with little choice.
