 What you may not know about the vibrant society that makes up Israel is that day to day life in Israel is so much more than the narrow keyhole view that much of the world understands! Israel is a democratic state in the Middle East made up of Jews and non-Jews from the four corners of the earth.

Medical Volunteers to Care for Holocaust Survivors

 Growing up in Israel, the third generation of Jews born since the Holocaust, we thought we knew about the Holocaust. However only recently as physicians have we learned about the extent of our profession’s crimes during the Holocaust. This awareness focuses our responsibility as the third generation to preserve the memory of the Holocaust and as physicians to fulfill the vow of "never again".

 The Israeli military has a secret weapon — a highly trained squad of elite soldiers that’s entirely made up of disabled and autistic teens. Special in Uniform is a Jewish National Fund-USA program that integrates young adults with disabilities into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and, in turn, into Israeli society.
