BBC'S "Blood Libel"

Disgusting that the Israelis are being blamed by the BBC for the behaviour of the Palestinian leadership

  1. There is no proof whatsoever that two states is actually a solution to the problems of the region. Language itself plays a role in this global misconception. The word "solution" is a noun, a word that denotes a thing. Similarly "two-state solution" sounds like an actual, existing, real thing. But it is not. The media, and western politicians talk about the two-state solution as if it were real, so as to imply that people who don't believe in it or don't want it, actually don't want a solution - or peace. If you don't want another Arab state in the Middle East on the high ground overlooking Israel's main population centers and its one international airport, you don't want peace. Winston Churchill, after WWI thought that two states, one Arab one Jewish would be a "solution", and went ahead setting aside 78% of former Ottoman Palestine (after Syria and Lebanon were taken over by the French) and called the brand new country Trans-Jordan. He imported a brand new monarchy from Arabia, a family who never lived in the area, and set up a brand new throne on which sits King Abdullah today.
The remaining 22% of Palestine was set aside for reconstituting the Jewish homeland based on pre-existing rights. The only problem was that Arabs did not recognize the existing indigenous Jewish community as having any rights to be in the area, let alone have a state. Palestinian Arabs today teach their children the exact same thing, from schoolbooks paid for by the EU (Britain, France, Germany etc.) and the UN. Children are taught that Jews are evil and must be driven out and that all, yes all, the land from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean, is Arab land. Tel Aviv, founded on bare sand dunes in 1909, they are told was taken from them.
They do not see two-states" as a solution but as a stepping stone to the dream they teach their kids. This is also the dream of many in the west whose religion-fueled antipathy to Jewish sovereignty on even the tiniest sliver of land anywhere stick in their craw.
