Looking to end dependence on Russia, E.U eyes natural gas & LNG sources in Israel. EU working on a deal to import Israeli gas through Egypt. Fuel would be turned into liquefied natural gas (LNG) at Egypt’s processing plants before being shipped to the EU. For the deal to go through, it would require the backing of EU member states. EU imported 40% of its gas from Russia last year and is actively hunting for alternative sources
